Excellent Day for Yorkshire Ladies at Northern Counties Finals

Yesterday, Sunday 10th May, Yorkshire Ladies enjoyed an excellent day at the Northern Counties Finals held at Consett Bowls Club, Durham, competing in all four disciplines.

In the Singles semi-final, Cressida Fordy was narrowly defeated by the eventual winner from Cumbria.

Our Pairs team of Janet Farnsworth and Wendy Pickard battled hard but were defeated by Cumbria in the final.

There was great success, however, in both the Triples and Fours competitions.

Sue Entwistle, Kath Smith and Maria Dowson produced a superb performance to defeat Durham in a closely contested Triples final.

Yorkshire also claimed victory in the Fours, where Margaret Roberts, Chris Atkinson, Lynne Metcalfe and Margaret Watson defeated a strong Durham side in the final.
